Day 1 : Grands Mulets hut

Cable car from Chamonix to the Plan de l'Aiguille (2310 m).  Cross the Pèlerins and Jonction glaciers to arrive at the Grands Mulets hut (3057 m). A glorious stage in an exceptional setting.

Altitude range: +700m.

Hours: 3 to 5

Day 2 : Ascent of Mont Blanc (4810 m)

We cross the glacier to meet the base of the Nord du Dôme ridge. From here we climb with our skis on our back, across short sections of 35 to 40 deg. We reach the summit of the Dôme du Goûter, then tackle the Bosses ridge to the summit. Carrying skis on our backs is often necessary for the final part of the ridge. Then comes the extraordinary descent to the Mont Blanc tunnel if cover allows, or to the Plan de l'Aiguille. It's a long stage at high altitude that demands very good endurance as well as good crampon technique. The ascent can also be done by the Trois Monts if conditions allow. The choice will be made at the time.

Altitude range: +1700m and -3800m or -2600m

Hours: 6 to 8

Description

Climbing Mont Blanc on skis is surely the ultimate way to reach the highest peak in western Europe.  The thrill doesn't stop at the summit; a breathtaking off-piste descent from 4810m down the north face will take you down the Bosses ridge, then down the Bossons glacier back down to Chamonix.  This will undoubtedly remain an unforgettable moment in your skiing career.  This is an epic end of season challange... it's recommended that you spend at least some time over the winter ski touring in the mountains.
