Climbing the Dent du Geant

The Dent du Geant …

From the start of the arêtes de Rochefort, the Dent du Géant rises to 4013 m above you, resembling a sword against the sky. from the first sighting, you are completely drawn to the summit.  The normal route, well equipped with ropes, is not super difficult, but still requires basic rock climbing experience and good ropework, especially for the abseil desent. Once you are on the summit, the panoramic view is incredible, and if there’s only one thing left to do, it’s to come back via the traverse of the arêtes de Rochefort and continue onto the Grandes Jorasses.

The first abseil down the vertical south face requires some confidence…

I’ll leave you with the photos taken by Franck, accompanied by Enrico the climbing maestro!

A très bientôt…
